Rereading my last post I discovered that (and I am embarrassed to admit it) I did not know the difference between breath, and breathe.
Which means I have made that error numerous times. So….just to save anyone else with a spelling malady…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Breath is a noun. Breathe is a verb. When you breathe, you inhale and exhale breath. The simplicity of this distinction doesn’t prevent the occasional mix-up—for example:
So imagine my surprise when the view from the east side of the Eaglecrest area on a recent snowshoe walk took my breathe away.
Again, the Horseshoe Kingdom appeared to breath a little easier.
These writers use the words correctly:
Under normal circumstances I wouldn’t waste any more breath on the subject.
Supporters said the proposed neighborhood would breathe new life into the aging island.
Pause in this position for three to six breaths.
Auckland holiday makers can breathe a sigh of relief today as one of the key bottlenecks is unlocked.
Waterhouse
(I have never seen before)
This Sia Furler song is one of my favorites! I was just thinking of you, too… ❤ I'm going to read now…
😀 I love it when you think of me and I post your favorite song. 😉 ❤
Perfect 😀
Breathe deeply, my sister…
I’ve been a fan of Waterhouse since 1995-ish, around the time when I saw The Lady of Shalott at the Tate Museum in London. Maybe one day I will post about that, if I locate the photograph of the painting that I captured from inside the museum. SHHH… cameras weren’t allowed then! That was before camera phones were everywhere, I suppose. xo, Ka
You shoul
You should post about it. The Waterhouse painting is on the net.
I just posted another one about old sketches that was inspired by a conversation with Dewin. What is it with tonight? I’m surprised I am still awake. Soon, I hope to retire… Thanks so much for sharing, Sindy! xxoo
We all love you, Sindy. Everyone who has lived and written has made errors. ❤
I don’t like those errors. lol Thanks Ka.
Both the song and the Waterhouse picture are new to me, but I love them 🙂 Thanks for sharing. Hope you are well. Bright Blessings
Someone explained to me this same thing a couple of years ago… and I still have to think about it… With an e or without… Oh the English language… Love barbara
😀 It was such a revelation. Ha ha I agree ….Oh the English language…. I had a Linguistics course this semester that was full of helpful information but I gave it little attention. That is why I am 2 percentage points from an A. lol
Smiles…. that Eeeeeeeeeeee makes all the difference when we Breatheeeeeee LOL.. 😉 ❤
Breathe deeply and smile 😀 ❤
I laughed out loud reading this. I learned this distinction about a year ago. Having a meditation site the words breath and breathe come up in posts often. So delighted to see I’m not the only one.
No your not. 😀 and for the 100th time I had to look up affect, and effect. lol
Lets not forget then and than or further and farther. I actually still don’t get the difference between those last two.
lol I will get back to you on that, 😉
