Hi I am Sindy. What’s your name?
My journey of self discovery started in my late twenties around 1984. I was in full swing into Metaphysics by the Harmonic Convergence in 1987. Me and a group of eleven others were ordained as reverends at the Church of Inner Light, in Los Angeles, in 1992. Two of my best friends and soul family were in that number.
My next move was to dabble for a while in the Hindu and Guru practices. I attended Satsangs regularly at Siddha Yoga Center in Los Angeles. I was fortunate enough to receive Shaktipat from Gurumayi. Around that same time I was again blessed to receive a hug from Amma, Mata Amritanandamayi.
Following that I spent over ten years at the Los Angeles Gnostic Center,where I studied the esoteric teaching of a self proclaimed master Samael Aun Weor. We studied all the esoteric disciplines from Zen Buddhism, Kabbalah, Astral travel, Revolutionary Psychology, Shamanism and many other healing and esoteric studies. I had some amazing teachers here, Florence and Jose Gonzales, to whom I have a lot of gratitude.
At the center I was introduced and educated in Qigong healing and I was certified as a Healing Qigong Practitioner. I found the spiritual aspect of Qigong, Shengong my point of interest. The idea of events, traumas and things possessing a small part of our Qi/Chi, life force energy. I found great value in Soul Retrieval, a reclaiming of this fragments. Recently with my sister at Christmas time,we were able to drive around all the places we lived and visited growing up, and she and I did just this.
My last foray into the occult was with an organization that I well….question, but I enjoyed it and with all things learned from it. The most valuable thing I learned was to be a Self Sovereign Being. This organization is known as, The Freedom Teachings, or Keylontic Science. Indulge in this at your own risk. In other words, I am not advocating this teaching at this time. But in full disclosure of me, I am including it. The Twelve Attitudes of Mastery and Responsibility I do recommend, had the organization adhered to these standards well….
So that is my spiritual background and, as just Sindy, I am a poet, a writer, and a film maker. I studied film at Los Angeles City College. The Film Industry is a tough business to break into, so I just took a regular job. I am a big movie buff, I like everything from Science Fiction to Indies, I love animated films and I can easily relate to a four year old.
Addendum
I graduated from Arizona State University, Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Secondary Education/English. I am currently teaching ELL at a charter school, where I love my students, my peers, and our administrators.

Hi Sindy, you have a beautiful blog 🙂 I have fond memories of the Church of Inner Light, it was a wonderful experience for me back in 1981, a spiritual awakening, I got to meet Rev Trudy Jarno who performed a healing on me and that had a profound impact on me. I would have loved to stay and learn but I was only passing through, my destiny was leading me on a different direction. In searching the web about Rev. Trudy Jarno, I came across your wonderful blog.
I would like to ask you about the type of healing that was done there since you were ordained there. Thank You! … Javier
Javier thank you for the compliments. As far is the healing that was like 22 years ago, I have no idea. I know a lot more about healing since then. I do Reiki and Angel Healing as well as being a Medical Qigong Practitioner. But I really don’t know what Trudy did we were not trained in healing there. Good to have someone visit me from there. Please come back by here anytime.

Like you mentioned in your bio, I also have had a variety of experiences which have moved me further down the spiritual path. Hello… I am rereading Never Say Goodbye by Trudy.. and on impulse googled her name. I went to the Church of Inner Light for many years.. I loved it. Looking back, I thought. a place like that was “normal”. That I would find something like that again.. but I never have.. I did not realise how blessed I was to have had that as a part of my life. Such love and healing was there. I am so thankful that I got to experience that energy. I moved to Tennessee just prior to Trudy’s passing.. I remember thinking how much I would miss the Church when I left… and it would have been the only reason, at that time, that I would have stayed in Los Angeles. I moved to Tennessee and of course it is not conducive to Spirituality here.. I however went into healing work and worked in a drug and alcohol rehab for 12 years, doing energy work and massage. It was a wonderful learning experience. I think that is the reason I was to come to this area.. Not sure if you knew Rev John Gregory…he was a friend of Trudy’s, and was my first Spiritual Teacher.. such an amazing and wonderful man.. Also Rev Sandy Holtz.. and there was also Rev. Sunny… that I remember.. and lots of faces whose names I have forgotten .;. it has been such a long time.. but beautiful memories. So glad to have come across your blog.. I will keep in touch..
Hello Suzannah. Did we know one another at the church? Like you said it has been a very long time. I too took the church for granted, living in Los Angeles I assumed there were many more places like it but there is not. Have you looked into meetups in your area? There are spiritual people everywhere just less “out” in Christian country. Out of the Rev’s you mentioned I only recall Sunny, and 2 Dolores. I became a minister there with 2 of my best friends who of course I am still in touch with. Rev Trudy doesn’t even have a Wiki page, she should have one.
Many friends I had from there have past. Those were the days. Thanks for commenting and bringing back great memories of Inner Light, and Rev. Trudy Jarno. It is sad that a google search only yields this blog, she influenced a lot of people.

HI Sindy… I do not recollect, but it has been such a long time. I went to the Church often, so possibly we had met. The healing circles were wonderful.. and I loved to have an occasional “check up” with a little psychic reading downstairs.. :). I do remember Delores.. She was an older African American woman with such a sweet face. I have not gone to a meet up… but the energy here is very heavy. I have been in Tennessee many years now, and a relocation is about due.. and a Spiritual Church in my next location is at there top of my list..I will not move without one.. so important to connect with people of like mind.
And you are right.. Trudy did influence a lot of people.. She, and also Rev. John Gregory were very special people.
Oh.. another walk down memory lane.. do you remember the amazing singer Sanacha Redsky I still play the CD I brought from her. She only sang there once. So many of the people Trudy had as guests were really special.
So glad we have connected! Are you still in L.A? If that info is private I will understand if you do not answer.
