Jupiter & Me

Drops of Jupiter

Just when you think that you know what’s up? Things change. Hey friends. I have had my eyes set on the high school where I am interning this semester. It is a great school and really close to home. So far I really enjoy it and my mentor is amazing, a real English teacher. However, it doesn’t look like I will remain there as I had hoped to do. The school English department is heavily staffed with new teachers. So, since I who always put all those eggs in one basket had to reassess the situation. My peers at ASU and myself are applying for our Student teaching placements this afternoon. At this time we request the school we want to teach at. So I have been high school shopping. The good news is there are a number of good high schools in my area. So I selected a few and any of them will be awesome.

I have been told by my astrologer friend that Jupiter is about to or is moving through my sign and clicking off those (I don’t know what you call them) in my chart. Like a pinball machine bing, score , score, bing, bing, score, score, But apparently according to her, good for me. I also saw a dragon fly in my backyard recently, which are more of a rare occurrence. Dragonflies as I have posted here before indicate change. Being the fixed Scorpio I am, I have learned in the past 10 years to embrace change. So I take a deep breath, and ask for divine will be done.

Jupiter the Planet of Luck

 Jupiter is the thinking-person’s planet. As the guardian of the abstract mind, this planet rules higher learning, and bestows upon us a yen for exploring ideas, both intellectually and spiritually. Intellectually speaking, Jupiter assists us in formulating our ideology. In the more spiritual realm, Jupiter lords over religions and philosophy. A search for the answers is what Jupiter proposes, and if it means spanning the globe to find them, well, that’s probably why Jupiter also rules long-distance travel. In keeping with this theme, Jupiter compels us to assess our ethical and moral values; it also addresses our sense of optimism.

Moon Mythology

Forever the book pilgrim today I discovered a little treasure for 99 cents, Curious Myths of the Middle Ages, written by, Rev. Sabine Baring-Gould 1834-1924 Edited by, Edward Hardy (1987). Below is an excerpt from The Man in the Moon myth. The book illustrations are all Albrecht Duer.

~~~
In Scandinavian mythology Mani, the moon stole two children from their parents, and carried them up to heaven. Their names were Hjuki and Bil. They had been drawing water from the well byrgir, in the bucket Soegr, suspended from the pole Simul, which they bore on their shoulders. These children, pole and bucket, were placed in heaven ‘where they could be seen from earth’. This refers undoubtedly to the spots on the moon, and so the Swedish peasantry explain these spots to this very day (1866) as representing a boy and a girl bearing a pail of water between them. We are once reminded of our nursery rhyme:
Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water;
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.
This verse, which to us at first sight seems nonsense, I have no hesitation in saying has a high antiquity, and refers to the Eddaic Hjuki and Bil. The names indicate as much. Hjuki, in Norse, would be pronounced Juki, which would readily become Jack; and Bil for the sake of euphony, and in order to give a female name to one of the children, would become Jill. The fall of Jack and the subsequent fall of Jill simply represent the vanishing of one moon-spot after another as the moon wanes.
But the old Norse myth had a deeper significance than merely an explanation of the moon-spots. Hjuki is derived from the verb jakka, to leap or pile together, to assemble and increase; and Bil from bila, to break up or dissolve. Hjuki and Bil therefore signify nothing more than the waxing and waning of the moon, and the water they are represented as bearing signifies the fact that the rainfall depends on the phases of the moon. Waxing and waning were individualized, and the meteorological fact of the connexion  of the rain with the moon was represented by children as water-bearers.
Lion Love
All things Leo & the Lion. Normally August is not my favorite month, it always seems to be full of challenge in years past. This August from all I hear looks challenging as well, however it can be channeled into a lot of positive collective power, what with the upcoming eclipses and The 888 Lion’s Gate ad infinitum.  I will share links and leave it to the astrologers to explain it all best.
For me it all got good when I did The Lion People (Sirius) Transmission: Connecting with the Blue Lodge Masters , by Steve Nobel. I did not expect such a glorious experience as I had. I was lying on my bed and I felt their immense love pour into me as I saw these regal beings approach me in my minds eye. It was only I can explain pure god source love, my eyes filled with tears and all I could do was repeat, “Thank you, thank you, I love you.” as I just could not contain all the love I was feeling. I can only share with you that it was beautiful.
I have spent my summer reading and studying for the most part preparing myself for my last semester of classes at ASU before I student teach in the Spring before graduating. I have perused the charity shops collecting books for my class library, and dreaming of the classroom I will have in a year. A week ago I came across The Horse and His Boy, by C. S. Lewis. I thought that I had read The Chronicles of Narnia, but I do not recall reading this book. On that same day I picked up a film I had seen and liked years ago called, An Education, an arty European coming of age story about a high school senior in London, who is preparing to attend Oxford. She meets an older man who romances not only her, but her parents. In the film an excuse given to the parents so that he may take their 17 year old daughter away for the weekend, is that she can meet C. S. Lewis at Oxford, which was just a ruse. Anyway interesting as when I did the Lion People of Sirius activation I kept thinking of Aslan from the books, and now in the same day I get a book and it is referenced in the movie. Cool Leo the Lion beans!
The Leo King
The Leo King Pleiadian Transmission
Oh, and then yesterday at the charity shop I see a book, and I actually misunderstood the title, The Return of Arthur Conan Doyle. My mind saw, The Return of Arthur, and repeated Arthur Conan Doyle, I was thinking Arthur Pendragon of course but NO! What I came across was a text that is “supposedly ACD speaking beyond the grave after his death. I have not ventured far into it as I am reading Lewis. Interesting. ACD was a huge spiritualist as you know, so. . . Interesting.
A Golden Dawn
I don’t really know what to say about this image? She is so powerfully beautiful and I have had this image for awhile. Why share it now? I am not certain, I feel like we have entered a new dawn, a golden one. Although I understand it may not look that way, especially if you watch the news, which I do not. I do not watch television really. I will deny the obvious if it does not belong in the architectural plans of my dream. It is definitely heating up in every way. You have to break some eggs to make an omelette.
I am going on a journey to the Emerald City, okay just Los Angeles, I will be taking the train, which I love, and I hope to be inspired. Of course I am going to see my friends, but I feel there is a bigger reason of which I have no idea. I feel like I had to go whether I wanted to or not. That freaks me out a little, those conscious mandates we receive from our guides or over soul, as it were. But I know all is well but I have a little anxiety.
I have been super busy since school let out, I read Book Two, in The Arthurian Saga by Mary Stewart, The Hollow Hills, oh boy, that was rich, I loved it. Book Three, The Last Enchantment, is sitting here but I dare not begin as I read for three solid days with the last one. I will take it with me on my sojourn. I also joined National Council of the Teachers of English, summer reading program, we are reading a text on teaching YA literature in high school classroom with an established YA pedagogy. It is cool as they have it on a FB Group I get to chat with veteran English teachers all over the country.
I am also working on expanding the short story, The Blue Orb, which is fun, and I have been doing some writing for a Los Angeles photographer. My wonderful boyfriend has helped me create my Fairy garden and all is well in my universe.
I really enjoyed this angelic meditation it is my gift to you friends.
Happy Birthday om!
The birth of my blog has truly birthed happiness and good friends. Thank you all so much for not only supporting my blog, but for supporting me and my life. I recall making the journey alone from Louisiana to Arizona driving a U-Haul truck and pulling a car in high winds, but I knew that my blog friends were with me and keeping me in their thoughts and prayers. This amazing community has helped me grow spiritually, creatively and consciously. I have made some really great friends here, and I love you all.
Grace
Grace
Hexagram 22
Like a sacred fire lighting up the night sky, this hexagram is about the beauty of form – the grace of the material world. When something is pleasing to the eye, it can fuel success and happiness. This is a favorable time to begin something new, alter one’s wardrobe or redecorate. Adornment brings confidence and freedom. Enjoy the shifting appearances, but don’t over indulge in them or they will distract you from true value.
