The gesture Namaste represents the belief that there is a Divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart chakra. The gesture is an acknowledgment of the soul in one by the soul in another. Nama means bow, as means I, and te means you. Therefore, Namaste literally means “bow me you” or “I bow to you.”
To perform Namaste, we place the hands together at the heart charka, close the eyes, and bow the head. It can also be done by placing the hands together in front of the third eye, bowing the head, and then bringing the hands down to the heart. This is an especially deep form of respect. Although in the West the word “Namaste” is usually spoken in conjunction with the gesture, in India, it is understood that the gesture itself signifies Namaste, and therefore, it is unnecessary to say the word while bowing.
We bring the hands together at the heart chakra to increase the flow of Divine love. Bowing the head and closing the eyes helps the mind surrender to the Divine in the heart. One can do Namaste to oneself as a meditation technique to go deeper inside the heart chakra; when done with someone else, it is also a beautiful, albeit quick, meditation.
Namaste, to myself, to you, to my world, and universe, to infinity and beyond~
Dreams seemed to be a reoccurring theme today, a new friend blogger, Amy and her blog The Dream Well joined in the Let’s Go Retro Challenge, and her post is below. That was first today, and then my friend mentions have met me in a dream, which reminds me of a prominent dream and it’s current manifestation in the waking world.
I only recently started taking the freeway to work, (recall the recent speeding incident) well, I always take it home but never took it going. Okay a long preamble, or ramble, there is an express overpass for the carpool lane, on the freeway, and coming off it was when I got stopped. The express overpass is almost surreal as it heads into a lone blue sky. The first time I was on it, I was disoriented, or enchanted, but I din’t know why. It was probably the second or third time before the dream came to mind. A couple years ago when briefly living in Louisiana, and before I had any idea of moving to Arizona I had this dream.
In the dream I was on this sky highway that sloped in curves like a roller coaster in the sky. I remember feeling light and happy in the dream. It has been awhile so I only recall fragments of the dream out of sequence, the overpass is straight from the dream. In this dream I met Kieth Richards who was riding a chopper on a curvy desert road. I recall an amazing rock arch and another good friend, who just this last weekend was in the desert at an event. That is about all of the dream I can remember but I had other dreams of the desert at that time. That might have influenced my decision to move to Arizona. The collage in the third art piece really reminds me of the dream which was like a “Doors” song.
Thanks to all of you for contributing your incredible post in the Retro challenge. I created a Participation badge if you want for your blog in my tool bar ❤
I blue love you. Get it? Haha I crack myself up and I am so cheesey sometimes.
“Love, True love.” I heart that character in The Princess Bride, so funny. What is love? I wrote an essay about it once, it was alright but love is……
Bliss, Ananda and connection with Source. Sometimes we experience this expansion with another, and that is splendid, but we can experience it without. Love is something that when we are in it, that blissful moment, expand on it and send it out, to the waters, to the skies, to Mother Earth, and to the animals, to each other.
Channel love into your children, your garden, your work, your music, your art, your writing and everywhere and everything you can think of. That is why listing things I am grateful for when driving in my car, puts me into that love vibration.
I am in so much gratitude for my life, for my family, and for my friends. That includes many of you, who have become my friends. I am so blessed.
I feel magic. I sense it in the air; I see it in nature, and in manifestation. What I have learned about manifestation this year from Abraham, is that its and alchemical process of transforming impressions moment to moment (actually learned that in Gnosis,) but understood it this year from Abraham. I am looking to manifest the best feeling I can in each moment. I have learned that challenges and contrast have great purpose, to help define what you want by feeling what I don’t want, and quickly transforming that feeling to a better one.
In school and in Biology I learned of the great magic that exist in the physical world, in our bodies, in plants, animals, planets, comets, oceans……….. Creation is just so amazing!
I have seen beauty in art, music and writing. Many of you are such good writers, and I so admire you. I admire your depth, and your intellect, your heart, and your soul, all of which you share with us here at Word Press. I am grateful to Word Press for hosting this magnificent union.
Sorry it has taken all day to get this posted~ Thank you everyone for sharing all your magical post in the 12 Days of Christmas writing prompt. I have to confess that not being Catholic, I had no idea when the 12 Days of Christmas actually is, but it was more a theme and a number for me. Thank you for those that educated me.
There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next hour, sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear. We repeat: there is nothing wrong with your television set. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to – The Outer Limits.
All that could be heard was the high pitch buzz from the insects on this late October afternoon. The sun low on the horizon still scorching the air as it entered the nostrils. Lucille Leroy walked the long dirt road past all the corn fields on her way home from town. Thoughts of the picture show still playing in her head. As Warren wooed Natalie, Bobby Joe had caressed her inner thigh. She was somewhat elated from the sensation and the memory.
The sun was quickly dipping below the corn and the light shot through like arrows. Lucille was not crazy about walking past the corn at night, the thought of that kid on “The Twilight Zone” sending the townspeople to the cornfield suddenly popped into her head. Some of people in Mayville said they saw glowing green lights out there at night, “Why am I thinking these thoughts?” It…
