Solstice Love

Happy Holidays & Happy Winter’s Solstice

I will just give a quick check in and hello. I was unplugged again because I used up all my data, so internet time is limited to the library, or the church, until Saturday. I finished my last semester of classes at ASU well, 3.81 GPA. I took and passed one of my state school board certifications yesterday. I begin student teaching in the second week of January, at a really nice school, with a super nice teacher. Just four months to graduation.

Thanks to my friend Romeo Baron on Facebook for this image. I feel very connected to it. After meeting those Lion beings from Sirius B, I really like that connection. My sister took me to a yoga sound meditation on the new moon last Sunday which was amazing. I am working the next couple of days and then it is Christmas. Boy time sure flies. I will leave a couple of cool links below. I love you all and if you feel blue during the Holidays, know that I am sending you lots of love.

Listening Love

Listen What The Man Said

For me this article goes beyond astrology and regards conscious loving listening.

Gemini Full Moon: The Gift of Listening

When my friend’s son was small, he talked incessantly. Born with Venus in loquacious Gemini, he jabbered constantly about stories he’d read or what he’d seen on television that morning. His mother is a patient woman, but eventually the sheer quantity of words wore her down. One day, she recalls, driving along with her child chattering away in the passenger seat, she suddenly couldn’t take any more. “Could you please just stop talking for one minute?” she begged her small son. “And immediately,” she told me, “his little eyes filled up with tears. I couldn’t have felt more awful!”

Few feelings are as wounding as not being listened to, especially by those we love. In his book The Road Less Traveled, M. Scott Peck characterizes true, attentive listening as one of the greatest gifts of love we can offer another person – and one of the most difficult. There are times when it’s easier, of course — in the first flush of passion, when your loved one’s every utterance is like honey, or when your toddler is first learning to talk. But to really listen even when you’re not in the mood, when you’re heard the same story a dozen times, when you’re worried about something else, when there’s nothing in it for you personally – that’s hard work.

It’s most difficult to listen when people talk about things you don’t want to hear, things that challenge your worldview. Each year at Thanksgiving, with the Sun in Sagittarius – the sign of beliefs – many family tables are minefields, as we tap dance around topics that we know will invite controversy. The December 3, 2017 Full Moon falls in Gemini, the sign of enthusiastic chatter as well as attentive listening. It falls a couple of weeks too late to lend conversational sparkle to your Thanksgiving celebration, but in plenty of time to deconstruct it. How much loving attention were you able to muster for the bombastic uncle, the long-winded grandmother, the cousin’s  political tangent? Were you too busy trying to be heard to really listen to anybody else?

When we give up pretending that we know everything, we free ourselves to learn from what other people have to say. And if we turn off the cell phone and stop texting for two minutes, we might notice that the woman sitting next to us in the doctor’s waiting room looks scared to death and might be grateful for someone to talk to. Listening – that simple gift of attention and love, like holding open a door for someone leaving a store as you’re entering – makes the world feel a little kinder, a little more civilized.

In public, watching everyone around me texting away and ignoring everyone else, and I wonder how in the world they ever met the people they’re texting with. Cell phones have become like little force fields we carry to neutralize exposure to strangers. They allow us to tune out the raucous conversation of the young men loitering on the corner, but also to ignore the old woman asking for directions to the bus. We are in worlds of our own, jealously calibrating the flow of conversation that has the power to lubricate the gears of a trying world.

The world and its people can indeed be trying, and perhaps we can be forgiven for taking refuge behind the white noise of iPods and banal cell phone conversations. Too easily, though, inattention becomes a habit that persists even at home among those we love, and that’s a problem. Love, as Peck notes, is not just a feeling, but a verb. It’s something we do, a bit of spiritual theater we enact through actions large and small. And listening, even when we don’t feel like it, is a small but powerful act of love. That’s what my friend recognized that day in the car, when her unwillingness to listen made her son cry. She took the lesson to heart, and made up her mind from that day on to give her bright boy the gift of her listening.

The Sun’s annual passage through Sagittarius blesses us with insight into our most cherished convictions. When we tap into our Sagittarius power, we may feel the urge to proselytize about our beliefs; caught up in our own thoughts, we are likely to forget that others see the world quite differently. The Full Moon in Gemini reminds us, simply, that listening – bearing witness to another’s reality – is a sacred thing and a loving act. Listening connects us to one another – and it enriches not only those who are listened to, but also those who listen to them.

Scorpion Killer

“Strange days indeed. Lord have mercy mama!”

On November 1, Día de Muertos, I spent the day with the Brothers Grimm. I have discovered there is a profession that I did not realize existed, because if I had realized this career path was available I might be Dr. Simms, Fairy Tale scholar. Lol When I read those words in the text we are using for my Children’s literature class I thought, “Fairy Tale scholar?” Yes please. However, well I am no Spring chicken. Nonetheless, Fairy tale scholar is a cool title and profession in my book. As I was reviewing the collection of fairy tales to write my literary theory critique I observed that feminist must certainly have a field day in that genre, the maidens, and princesses, are dense at best. The other is the stepmother/temptress archetypes which are horrible. There were a number of passive fathers who did whatever the temptress, usually the stepmother, wished to do. There were very few honorable archetypes represented in the collection which consisted of; Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel, Rumplestiltskin, The Frog King, and, Hansel and Gretel.

So, why the title you ask? This occurred what is now yesterday, I worked on my essay for most the day, then as I was getting ready for bed, about 11 P. M. I see a strange shape crawling into my room. I do not recognize it as our abundant cricket population, as I look closer I see it’s curved tail. It was the first live scorpion that I have ever encountered in my life. As it was crawling into my bedroom I panicked and grabbed the closest thing to me, The Complete Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm, and smashed it! Freaky, on 11/1 at around 11, I see and kill a scorpion, while we are in Scorpio astrologically, with The Brothers Grimm, and only two days after my birthday, I kept the scorpion, which I really hated to kill, in a jar.

Jupiter & Me

Drops of Jupiter

Just when you think that you know what’s up? Things change. Hey friends. I have had my eyes set on the high school where I am interning this semester. It is a great school and really close to home. So far I really enjoy it and my mentor is amazing, a real English teacher. However, it doesn’t look like I will remain there as I had hoped to do. The school English department is heavily staffed with new teachers. So, since I who always put all those eggs in one basket had to reassess the situation. My peers at ASU and myself are applying for our Student teaching placements this afternoon. At this time we request the school we want to teach at. So I have been high school shopping. The good news is there are a number of good high schools in my area. So I selected a few and any of them will be awesome.

I have been told by my astrologer friend that Jupiter is about to or is moving through my sign and clicking off those (I don’t know what you call them) in my chart. Like a pinball machine bing, score , score, bing, bing, score, score, But apparently according to her, good for me. I also saw a dragon fly in my backyard recently, which are more of a rare occurrence. Dragonflies as I have posted here before indicate change. Being the fixed Scorpio I am, I have learned in the past 10 years to embrace change. So I take a deep breath, and ask for divine will be done.

From Astrology.com

Jupiter the Planet of Luck

Jupiter is the thinking-person’s planet. As the guardian of the abstract mind, this planet rules higher learning, and bestows upon us a yen for exploring ideas, both intellectually and spiritually. Intellectually speaking, Jupiter assists us in formulating our ideology. In the more spiritual realm, Jupiter lords over religions and philosophy. A search for the answers is what Jupiter proposes, and if it means spanning the globe to find them, well, that’s probably why Jupiter also rules long-distance travel. In keeping with this theme, Jupiter compels us to assess our ethical and moral values; it also addresses our sense of optimism.

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Mercury Retrograde Christmas. My car, my boyfriend’s car….. and it isn’t even retrograde until the 19th, but other than an expected “Griswald Christmas” it is all good. Semester finally done, an A on the Shakespeare paper which felt like a huge accomplishment. All in all I got 3, A’s, a B+, and 2 B’s. I should be happy, and I am, but I could have done a little better. I am working on a visual and audio presentation on the paper, as I have such a vivid image of the play in my head, and I really like the paper. I will post to my academia.edu page when I revise it. It is nice to catch my breath but I am already to get back into school. I guess it is a good thing I picked teaching and English because I love them both. Graduation is May 7, 2018, so for those who plan to attend, Linda, Mary…lol anyone else, that is 18 months notice.

Have you ever had one song stuck in your head for over a week? I have had Barry White singing in my head for over a week. Please help exorcise Barry White’s,  Never Never Gonna Give You Up from my mind. Really and life isn’t that sexy. lol

Oh and my sister talked to our dead dad via  Jeanette St. Germain, cool huh? lol

Pruning Your Life

My horoscope tomorrow talks about my Saturn Return. I am glad I have been doing what I should be doing. And my relationship is awesome. My horoscope based on my chart at astro.com. Can link it it goes to mine.

Pruning your life

Valid during many months: This is one of the most important times in your life. A major cycle of experience is closing, and great changes are about to take place. How great these changes are depends largely on what you have been doing with your life over the past several years. Have you been living as you feel you should or as you think others want you to? If you have been doing the latter, this influence will have a greater impact.

This influence occurs about every twenty-nine years. The first such influence occurred when you were about twenty-nine, and the second is now, between your fifty-eighth and sixtieth birthday.

Last year, many aspects of your life have begun to change. Relationships may have changed, and you may have changed your residence or your job; you have been dominated by an urgent feeling that if you don’t do everything you have always wanted to do, you will never have another chance. And now, at about fifty-eight, you will feel that a substantial portion of your life has passed and that you had better get on with making it all work. If your relationship is unsatisfactory but you have been making the best of it, you will examine that relationship even more thoroughly now and may decide to end it. Certainly you will have to change it substantially. The same is true of any other aspect of your life that you have tolerated but not found very rewarding.

Consciously or unconsciously, you are pruning your life of everything that is not relevant to what you really are as a human being. If this process is not happening consciously, you may experience a sense of loss for the elements of your life that are coming to an end now. However, do not dwell upon these losses, for they are necessary in order to clear the decks for the major period of action in your life.

This is a time of endings and new beginnings. If you have built your life up to now around activities that are inappropriate for you, it will be a period of crisis. If you have been doing what you should in previous years, this influence will simply mark a time of solidification and the beginning of new phases of activity.

The interpretation above is for your transit selected for today:
Saturn conjunction Saturn,  ,
activity period beginning of January 2016 until mid-October 2016

TEA CUP ORANGES PINK FLOWERS (1)HUMMINGBIRD AMONG THE FLOWERS

Wow, just wow! All signs point to WOW! I suppose I am primarily talking through what the astrologers are saying about this new month, June. I will share some links below. thanks to my dear friend Queen Suzi, I stay informed. I clicked on this one guy from Facebook this morning because of the title, “Be Like Water,” at first I had to adjust to him but a good message. Next I listened to The Leo King Uncut, by David Palmer, and the similarities are amazing.

Then I decided to talk to my cards, and I was shown two cards, I really feel if you read this, it applies to you as well.

The Magician

Archangel Raziel: The Magician: “You are ready! You have the resources or the ability to manifest them. Life is magical.”

This card signals that it is the right time to begin new projects! If you had any doubts about your ability to manifest your dreams, leave them behind. In fact, the more self confidence you have the more success you experience! Fortunately, the angels can boost your inner strength if you will call upon them for help.

Although you may not feel ready to move forward upon your path, you are actually more prepared than your realize. Your life experiences have trained you for this moment, and the opportunities available to you at this time are magical. It is not necessary to take any more classes or read any more books, which would only delay you from walking through the door that is presently open for you. Take focused action with respect to any plans you may have been preparing for.

Additional meanings of this card: No more procrastination! ( Applies to me) Magical occurrences. Concentrated efforts. Unexpected resources.

Archangel Raziel is the wizard-like angel of spiritual secrets and mysteries who will open doors of opportunity for you. He will also speed you along the pathway of manifestation so that you will enjoy success much more quickly than seems logically possible.

The Star

Archangel Jophiel

Go ahead wish upon a star! The angels say you have every reason to feel hope and happy expectation. Believe in your dreams and look to your future with optimism, excitement, and confidence. Challenging times are now behind you, and brighter times are ahead. (Yay!) Make your plans with the long view in mind. Now is the time to envision your life the way you want it to be, and to take action in that direction. The expectations you create for yourself are planted in fertile soil. Trust and follow your intuition, as it is right on target.

Archangel Jophiel is the angel of optimism who helps us develop a sunshiny outlook, and attitude.
