8 Simple Ways To Reach A Higher Vibration

By, Jenna Wylie

We all have times where life isn’t clear and we feel like we’re walking through mud. Here are a few tips to help us find more happiness and fulfillment, and make it through the ups and downs!

1. Sleep

Now for those of us who aren’t mentally on top of our game, sleep (too much or the inability to sleep at all) may be a nightly battle. A few tips to more restful sleep:

  • Spend time earthing every day. This means getting your bare feet in contact with the ground. The earth’s energy is very healing and there is a lot of evidence that when we connect with the earth our circadian rhythm becomes more normalized, thus helping us sleep and wake up at healthy times. You can even make or buy grounding pads to sleep on to maximize the benefits of earthing.
  • Create a good sleep environment. Cool and dark works best for most people. Try to keep your room as free of electronics as possible. There is evidence that EMF’s can be a cause of insomnia and sleeping disorders. Turn your phone on airplane mode and leave your computer in another room or away from the bed. Be aware of walls with lots of hidden wires, or smart meters on the outside wall of your bedroom.
  • Before you go to sleep, write down everything that is on your mind. List the things that are bothering you or that you’re worried about or just the thoughts that won’t leave you alone. A ‘brain dump’ so to speak, that you can leave on your nightstand to think about tomorrow.

2. Spend Time Outside

It is easy to hide away indoors when we are feeling ‘off’ but going outside and spending time in nature can be soothing and very healing.

Whether it’s going for a walk, playing an outdoor sport, or simply splattering yourself out on the lawn (my personal favorite,) reconnect with mother earth to find inner peace.

3. Hang with the Right People

“You become like the 5 people you spend the most time with.”

Even on my lowest days, my husband always manages to poke through my walls and make me laugh. His ability to love me on any kind of day gives me safety and support that is priceless.

We are deeply entangled with the people around us. It is so important to spend our time with people who bring balance and don’t constantly drain our energy or fill us with negativity.

Sometimes this means letting go of someone. Spend your time with those who lift you up, love you, and encourage you to be your true self.

4. Get in this MOMENT

“The secret to change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new”

~ Socrates~

In his book ‘The Screwtape Letters,’ C.S. Lewis tells of letters written from a senior Demon Screwtape to his nephew Woodworm, a junior ‘tempter.’ Woodworm is responsible for the undoing or damnation of a certain human referred to as ‘The Patient.’

One of the demons’ tactics is to keep The Patient focusing constantly on the past or future. They know that if they successfully keep him from thinking about the moment, if he is consistently stuck on things in past or future, he will never be able to accomplish what is important in the now.

Do what it takes to let go of the past. Who you are today is more important than anything you have been, and will determine who you will be. Learn how to pull yourself back into the present.

5. Be Honest

A lot of anxiety and sadness comes when we lie to ourselves or those around us. This also applies to times when we ‘hide’ from those we love out of fear. The truth is, people who truly love us will keep loving us no matter what.

It is easier in the end to be honest and upfront with those close to us than to bury ourselves behind a good face.

I heard once that we all have three selves: who we are when we’re alone, who we are when we’re with close friends/family, and who we are when we’re in the general public.

The closer these three selves come together, the happier and more content we will be. We need to learn to to be true to ourselves, to be free, and to give others the same privilege.

6. Find Your Confidence

When depression sets in, when anxiety wrings you dry, when you’re in a fog and just aren’t sure of anything anymore… breathe. Remember that you are a piece of the universe. You are one with the stars and the galaxies and the birds above your rain clouds.

Look deep inside and find that connection with God or the Universe or Mother Earth, and know that you are not alone. This moment of dark won’t last.

Feel what needs to be felt and then hold your chin up and face your demons with power. This life is yours. Though your mind and ego may seem to hold the reins, in reality they belong to you and you are the master.

7. Balance Your Chakras

A lot of instability emotionally comes from your energy being unbalanced. This can happen for many reasons, and is often subconscious until you pay specific attention.

Balancing your chakras is an excellent way to meditate, clear muddy energy, process emotions that are stuck, and become more in tune with yourself. Here is a simple method I’ve found effective:

  • You can do this anywhere anytime but I’ve found it is easiest if you are somewhere comfortable where you can relax. Lay down or lean back in your chair.Take some deep breathes and try to let go of external distractions. Focus on your breathing and on feeling your body.
  • Let yourself focus on your energy. It surrounds you, runs through you, and is in constant motion. It is connected with the earth and the universe and everything that is in you.
  • Start at the bottom and either physically or in your mind hold your hand over the chakra, and move it clock-wise motion with the flow of energy. This is more about feeling than thinking. Focus on the flow and whether or not it feels fluid and clear. If not, focus on the imbalance. Is there physical discomfort? Thoughts or images that come up? Accept, process, and continue in motion with the energy until it is clear.
  • Move up to the next chakra and repeat. Continue until you’ve gone through each chakra individually.

For more specifics about the chakras, please see here.

8. Spend Some Time With an Animal

Who doesn’t feel better after cuddling a puppy? Or having a kitten on their lap? Or even getting to hold a big reptile? For me, almost nothing compares to being with horses.

Their beauty and power have always touched a deep place inside of me. Animals, because they accept and love us so easily, have great ability to help us accept ourselves and experience healing. Go play with a pet!

Here’s to all of us and our journey and the growth that comes with it. May we find in ourselves our greatest potential and happiness!

Celtic Music

I invite you to go into the image, go into your garden, listen to the beautiful music, and enter that place of magic. Create your fairy dust by breathing as a power plant. The 4 Point breath is a super generator. 1) Inhale through your nose, to say 6 to 8 counts, deep into the diaphragm, 2) hold the breath for the same 6 to 8 count, 3) release the breath from your mouth, to a 6 to 8 count. 4) NOW, hold the empty space for the 6 to 8 count, inhale through the nostrils at the same rate of 6 to 8 count, and repeat. You can tell when you have repeated the cycle enough times, start with 3, and see how it feels. It causes your cells to just vibrate. This is a breathing exercise so do as your health permits.

More on me later~~~ Go dream, breathe.

Contemplations

Well now that was quick, but not painless. I just completed the online, eight week, instead of sixteen week, Survey of British Literature after 1800. Talk about self-study. Talk about fast paced. Oh brother, but I knew I could do it, and it is done. I certainly will spend more time with this literature. I love most all of it. As well as the Romantic, and Transcendentalist in America, and those associated; Poe, Hawthorne, and Melville too. My head is swimming with it all. Concurrently been in the application process for ASU, and all going swimmingly, all transcripts are in, and I hit a snag, after 3 years, and 3 months, apparently to them, I am a non-resident. UGH! Don’t even ask but I have to appeal it. Just send me good mojo please.

So I want to pick a parting poem in honorarium, and celebration., but what shall it be? I shared something by most all studied but William Wordsworth, he deserves a spot. One of the so called “Lucy Poems.”

She Dwelt among the Untrodden Ways

William Wordsworth

She dwelt among the untrodden ways
         Beside the springs of Dove,
A Maid whom there were none to praise
         And very few to love:
A violet by a mossy stone
         Half hidden from the eye!
—Fair as a star, when only one
         Is shining in the sky.
She lived unknown, and few could know
         When Lucy ceased to be;
But she is in her grave, and, oh,
         The difference to me!

End of the World

It’s The End of the World

It’s the end of the world as we know it
It’s the end of the world as we know it
It’s the end of the world as we know it
And I feel fine

It’s the End of an old paradigm. The last of the four blood moons that has portended the Apocalypse by some fundamentalist Christian ministers, like John Hague, with his, Blood Moon Prophecy. I think it is high time to end that old world paradigm. Therefore today it is a Brand New World, it might not be immediately evident, in which case, go to the drawer and put on your rose colored glasses. As constant and consistent co-creators of our realities, and world, having a rosy vision is imperative.

I continue to wear rose colored glasses, in my college courses my beliefs are scoffed, and ridiculed. My Physical Anthropology Professor, (not knowing I believe) laughs at Ancient Alien theorist and calls it pseudo science, in my Lit class the thought of Utopian ideas is also thought of as ridiculous. The naysayer in me wants to agree. I am a rational person, but I must believe! I must give myself the freedom, and creative power to believe. Or, a fairy will die.

Say it with me,

I Do Believe in Fairies!

I Do!

I Do!

Water

Rain

I am a water sign, Scorpio. I am very watery. Water is strong in my mind lately. I saw a post on FB that talked about the magnificent red woods of Norther California, and how that they were dying from lack of water. This cannot be! Unless some grand New Earth is actually manifest and they moved, and I am going to be there. If you have not been in the presence of these trees, well I don’t think I can express the feeling. Majestic, and ancient, they exist no other place on the planet.

So that leads me to my topic, water. Water so sacred, and divine, water so required, like love. Can we please, please, please!!! As a collective pray, chant, dance, sing, pray, smile……..for gentle, clean, and nourishing rains in needed areas like California. If you drum, drum. I think a drum circle is a great place to implement that intention.

As Thich Nhat Hanh says in The Great Bell Chant, “A beautiful child appears in the heart of a lotus flower. One single drop of this compassionate water Is enough to bring back the refreshing spring to our mountains and rivers.”

The Pacific Ocean is in real trouble from the radiation from Japan. This cannot be. We can change this. We can.

Thank you for pure clean water, for gentle cleaning rains, for pristine oceans and seas. Thank you, thank you, thank you~

I see all water crystal clear.

Next….everything else. ❤

Blue Feather

Peacock1

You know the phrase, “A little bird told me.” Well a little cat told me, (odie) that there was some speculation that a poem had been written about blue. Well now I love blue. I love poems. And the titillating suggestion that it regarded blue? Well I had to read it. I am speaking of a poem and post by my dear friend, artist, and poet, Dewin Nefol. Here is his poem.

Blue Feather

Singularly unique.

That’s you.

There’s no other Blue

more superlative than you.

Love’s unfathomable cobalt hue

crafted you blue

in lightening hue

electric you

ripples

down

your

feather

~

No other

with your mesmerising blue

there’s never another

touching infinite blue

soaring forever in

Sky blue hue,

Hummingbird

within

your

feather

 ~

No other

Blue like you.

No other feather

blushes like you…

…tinted Blue Moon hue

is my sweet memory of you

The Great Bell Chant

The Great Bell Chant

The End of Suffering

Read by Thich Nhat Hanh:

May the sound of this bell penetrate deep into the cosmos

Even in the darkest spots

Living beings are able to hear it clearly

So that all suffering in them cease

Understanding comes to their heart

And they transcend the path of sorrow and death.

The universal dharma door is already open

The sound of the rising tide is heard clearly

The miracle happens

A beautiful child appears in the heart of a lotus flower

One single drop of this compassionate water

Is enough to bring back the refreshing spring to our mountains and rivers.

Listening to the bell

I feel the afflictions in me begin to dissolve

My mind calm

My body relax

A smile is born on my lips

Following the sound of the bell

My breathe brings me back to the safe island of mindfulness

In the garden of my heart

The flowers of peace bloom beautifully.
