A Golden Dawn

I don’t really know what to say about this image? She is so powerfully beautiful and I have had this image for awhile. Why share it now? I am not certain, I feel like we have entered a new dawn, a golden one. Although I understand it may not look that way, especially if you watch the news, which I do not. I do not watch television really. I will deny the obvious if it does not belong in the architectural plans of my dream. It is definitely heating up in every way. You have to break some eggs to make an omelette.

I am going on a journey to the Emerald City, okay just Los Angeles, I will be taking the train, which I love, and I hope to be inspired. Of course I am going to see my friends, but I feel there is a bigger reason of which I have no idea. I feel like I had to go whether I wanted to or not. That freaks me out a little, those conscious mandates we receive from our guides or over soul, as it were. But I know all is well but I have a little anxiety.

I have been super busy since school let out, I read Book Two, in The Arthurian Saga by Mary Stewart, The Hollow Hills, oh boy, that was rich, I loved it. Book Three, The Last Enchantment, is sitting here but I dare not begin as I read for three solid days with the last one. I will take it with me on my sojourn. I also joined National Council of the Teachers of English, summer reading program, we are reading a text on teaching YA literature in high school classroom with an established YA pedagogy. It is cool as they have it on a FB Group I get to chat with veteran English teachers all over the country.

I am also working on expanding the short story, The Blue Orb, which is fun, and I have been doing some writing for a Los Angeles photographer. My wonderful boyfriend has helped me create my Fairy garden and all is well in my universe.

I really enjoyed this angelic meditation it is my gift to you friends.

Happy Birthday om!
The birth of my blog has truly birthed happiness and good friends. Thank you all so much for not only supporting my blog, but for supporting me and my life. I recall making the journey alone from Louisiana to Arizona driving a U-Haul truck and pulling a car in high winds, but I knew that my blog friends were with me and keeping me in their thoughts and prayers. This amazing community has helped me grow spiritually, creatively and consciously. I have made some really great friends here, and I love you all.
Thank you all so very much~

Hello Happy Friday. A lovely Spring like day here. A day that was gifted me in my Spring break from school I had committed to work today, but alas it got cancelled so change of plan. Oh and I cannot read the text embedded in the image but bless them for sharing the image. I have been listening to my favorite astrologers this fine morning trying to get an idea of what is up? Sometimes the understanding is beyond me. The image and title allude to the Virgo Full Moon on March 12. I will share a few links below. One is from The Leo King, David Palmer, my son (from another mother) actually we have never met except on FB but I just feel like David is my son. lol He has his new fiancee on the show with him and it made me so happy. lol Crazy huh? I was happy he had chosen well.

Full Moon in Virgo; Time to Enter Warrior Mode

I was enjoying my magical garden patio, which as I have shared is darn near Xanadu to me. I was drawn to water my trees and plants, I just love the connection that you get with nature while doing such a simple task. I had created a puddle of mud at the foot of the patio, and I was compelled to just put my feet in and squish it around. If you haven’t done this in awhile, do it. Afterward I see my foot imprints left behind, sort of cool. It took my thoughts to the footprint of the guru, perhaps as I was listening to Ravi Shankar at the time. Honestly I have been hoping for a butterfly sighting . . . the day is young.

Also I have my outdoor kitty’s baby daddy to contend with, this Tom cat is huge, I mean at night he will scare you with his howl and scary gold eyes, he must be part Siamese or Persian as he has long hair, which is grey and white spots, and a slightly smushed face. Did I mention his howl would wake the dead and he is huge? I have named him Brutus. Both of his male offspring, Prince Fu, who is now named Carl, as I understand, and his brother Frankie, look like him. Brutus needs to be trapped and fixed, Pray for a good outcome for Brutus and all concerned.

Oxford deadline has come and gone but I still haven’t taken the flyer from my wall and it still has some unknown relevance, My tale bone is still sore but much better. Merlin, wizards, fairies and Tors still paint my minds imaginings. I have a unit yet to plan for my Methods of Teaching Language class, I am thinking “Unit of Thrones” one that would include Arthurian Grail Lore, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, a book of choice either, The Wicked Day, or any of Mary Stewart’s, Merlin Trilogy, Silver Eve (A YA novel female protagonist) or The Mist of Avalon. I would like to include Shakespeare, but a unit is 3 or 4 weeks, even the above is ambitious.

So I best get to scholarship essay writing. My internship is going real well but I am having a tough go of it in my Modern Grammar class so good vibes in that direction, or aka prayers etc… Much love everyone be well. The John Lennon lyrics, “strange days indeed” just popped in my head this morning, and the song lyric does not really fit the mood of the day which is light but nonetheless I share the song it may have a message (Oh of course there is the Shankar Lennon connection).

8 Simple Ways To Reach A Higher Vibration

By, Jenna Wylie

We all have times where life isn’t clear and we feel like we’re walking through mud. Here are a few tips to help us find more happiness and fulfillment, and make it through the ups and downs!

1. Sleep

Now for those of us who aren’t mentally on top of our game, sleep (too much or the inability to sleep at all) may be a nightly battle. A few tips to more restful sleep:

  • Spend time earthing every day. This means getting your bare feet in contact with the ground. The earth’s energy is very healing and there is a lot of evidence that when we connect with the earth our circadian rhythm becomes more normalized, thus helping us sleep and wake up at healthy times. You can even make or buy grounding pads to sleep on to maximize the benefits of earthing.
  • Create a good sleep environment. Cool and dark works best for most people. Try to keep your room as free of electronics as possible. There is evidence that EMF’s can be a cause of insomnia and sleeping disorders. Turn your phone on airplane mode and leave your computer in another room or away from the bed. Be aware of walls with lots of hidden wires, or smart meters on the outside wall of your bedroom.
  • Before you go to sleep, write down everything that is on your mind. List the things that are bothering you or that you’re worried about or just the thoughts that won’t leave you alone. A ‘brain dump’ so to speak, that you can leave on your nightstand to think about tomorrow.

2. Spend Time Outside

It is easy to hide away indoors when we are feeling ‘off’ but going outside and spending time in nature can be soothing and very healing.

Whether it’s going for a walk, playing an outdoor sport, or simply splattering yourself out on the lawn (my personal favorite,) reconnect with mother earth to find inner peace.

3. Hang with the Right People

“You become like the 5 people you spend the most time with.”

Even on my lowest days, my husband always manages to poke through my walls and make me laugh. His ability to love me on any kind of day gives me safety and support that is priceless.

We are deeply entangled with the people around us. It is so important to spend our time with people who bring balance and don’t constantly drain our energy or fill us with negativity.

Sometimes this means letting go of someone. Spend your time with those who lift you up, love you, and encourage you to be your true self.

4. Get in this MOMENT

“The secret to change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new”

~ Socrates~

In his book ‘The Screwtape Letters,’ C.S. Lewis tells of letters written from a senior Demon Screwtape to his nephew Woodworm, a junior ‘tempter.’ Woodworm is responsible for the undoing or damnation of a certain human referred to as ‘The Patient.’

One of the demons’ tactics is to keep The Patient focusing constantly on the past or future. They know that if they successfully keep him from thinking about the moment, if he is consistently stuck on things in past or future, he will never be able to accomplish what is important in the now.

Do what it takes to let go of the past. Who you are today is more important than anything you have been, and will determine who you will be. Learn how to pull yourself back into the present.

5. Be Honest

A lot of anxiety and sadness comes when we lie to ourselves or those around us. This also applies to times when we ‘hide’ from those we love out of fear. The truth is, people who truly love us will keep loving us no matter what.

It is easier in the end to be honest and upfront with those close to us than to bury ourselves behind a good face.

I heard once that we all have three selves: who we are when we’re alone, who we are when we’re with close friends/family, and who we are when we’re in the general public.

The closer these three selves come together, the happier and more content we will be. We need to learn to to be true to ourselves, to be free, and to give others the same privilege.

6. Find Your Confidence

When depression sets in, when anxiety wrings you dry, when you’re in a fog and just aren’t sure of anything anymore… breathe. Remember that you are a piece of the universe. You are one with the stars and the galaxies and the birds above your rain clouds.

Look deep inside and find that connection with God or the Universe or Mother Earth, and know that you are not alone. This moment of dark won’t last.

Feel what needs to be felt and then hold your chin up and face your demons with power. This life is yours. Though your mind and ego may seem to hold the reins, in reality they belong to you and you are the master.

7. Balance Your Chakras

A lot of instability emotionally comes from your energy being unbalanced. This can happen for many reasons, and is often subconscious until you pay specific attention.

Balancing your chakras is an excellent way to meditate, clear muddy energy, process emotions that are stuck, and become more in tune with yourself. Here is a simple method I’ve found effective:

  • You can do this anywhere anytime but I’ve found it is easiest if you are somewhere comfortable where you can relax. Lay down or lean back in your chair.Take some deep breathes and try to let go of external distractions. Focus on your breathing and on feeling your body.
  • Let yourself focus on your energy. It surrounds you, runs through you, and is in constant motion. It is connected with the earth and the universe and everything that is in you.
  • Start at the bottom and either physically or in your mind hold your hand over the chakra, and move it clock-wise motion with the flow of energy. This is more about feeling than thinking. Focus on the flow and whether or not it feels fluid and clear. If not, focus on the imbalance. Is there physical discomfort? Thoughts or images that come up? Accept, process, and continue in motion with the energy until it is clear.
  • Move up to the next chakra and repeat. Continue until you’ve gone through each chakra individually.

For more specifics about the chakras, please see here.

8. Spend Some Time With an Animal

Who doesn’t feel better after cuddling a puppy? Or having a kitten on their lap? Or even getting to hold a big reptile? For me, almost nothing compares to being with horses.

Their beauty and power have always touched a deep place inside of me. Animals, because they accept and love us so easily, have great ability to help us accept ourselves and experience healing. Go play with a pet!

Here’s to all of us and our journey and the growth that comes with it. May we find in ourselves our greatest potential and happiness!

Into the Mystic

He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven

William Butler Yeats

HAD I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,

Enwrought with golden and silver light,

The blue and the dim and the dark cloths

Of night and light and the half-light,

I would spread the cloths under your feet:

But I, being poor, have only my dreams;

I have spread my dreams under your feet;

Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Yeats and Mysticism

Yeats believed that one could invoke the elemental forces via meditation on symbols.

Having a history in the esoteric, and mysticism myself, I have ventured into further study of the Irish poet. My eye was curious about his book, Vision, in which he laid out his own kind of symbolism based largely in Theosophy, and the Vedas. Apparently also there were associations with members of the occult order, The Golden Dawn. All fascinating to me.

The Coming of Fairies

Arthur Conan Doyle

Chapter VIII

The Theosophic View Of Fairies

Of all religious and philosophies in Western lands I know none save that ancient teaching now called Theosophy which has any place in it for elemental forms of life. Therefore, since we have established some sort of independent case for their existence, it is well that we should examine carefully what they teach and see how far it fits in with what we have been able to gather or to demonstrate.

There is no one who has a better right to speak upon the point than my co-worker, Mr. E. L. Gardner, since he is both the discoverer of the fairies and a considerable authority upon theosophic teaching. I am glad, therefore, to be able to include some notes from his pen.

“For the most part,” he writes, “amid the busy commercialism of modern times,

“. . . the fact of their existence has faded to a shadow, and a most delightful and charming field of nature study has too long been veiled. In this twentieth century there is promise of the world stepping out of some of its darker shadows. Maybe it is an indication that we are reaching the silver lining of the clouds when we find ourselves suddenly presented with actual photographs of these enchanting little creatures–relegated long since to the realm of the imaginary and fanciful.”

“Now, what are the fairies?

“First, it must be clearly understood that all that can be photographed must of necessity be physical. Nothing of a subtler order could in the nature of things affect the sensitive plate. So-called spirit photographs, for instance, imply necessarily a certain degree of materialization before the ‘form’ could come within the range even of the most sensitive of films. But well within our physical octave there are degrees of density that elude ordinary vision. Just as there are many stars in the heavens recorded by the camera that no human eye has ever seen directly. . .”

If this seems a bit fragmented it is.

And reading a bit of H.P. Blavatsky’s, The Key to Theosophy

In the same vein, yet not in the same body, there is Quantum Physics, and all those hypothesis’s. Here is one I recently mostly read, Interesting. I can go with the possibility of the matrix, chocolate still taste like chocolate, and if your tooth is bad, still hurts, feels real.

Are the trees talking to you?

By

Mrill Ingram

Well, maybe. But we know for sure they are communicating with each other.

“Ever been in a forest and thought you heard whispering? Maybe it wasn’t in your head.”

This is Suzanne. (See Pic here) She studies tree “networks.”

She has found vast underground tree root systems that are kind of like giant brains.

Like the neurons in our own brains, trees send messages via their roots. So when you walk into a forest, it’s likely that all the trees are networked with each other, including other species of tree, as far as you can see.

In fact, she says that trees aren’t only communicating, but are also sending resources back and forth to help out other trees — even if they are a different kind of tree.

So, this might be a Douglas fir sending a little carbon love to a cedar tree.

What’s cooler than that? Well, there’s more.

She calls the older trees — and I mean like 500 years old — “mother trees.” And that’s because when they begin to die, they start passing their resources off to the younger trees around them.

She says it’s like the passing of a wand from one generation to the next. Whoa. My notion of a family tree just got a lot more complicated.

Besides being a beautiful way to understand forests, this info also gives us one more reason to stop clear cutting, which is when timber companies clear patches of land of ALL trees. It’s easier for the loggers, but it takes away the mother trees so they can’t pass along those resources to the next generation. With the mama trees, they wipe out whole forest communities, and that’s just a shame.

Here’s Suzanne. She made me see trees in a whole new way.

I titled the post, Butterfly Ballet, because I was in my garden with the yellow blooms on the bush, and the butterfly’s, birds, and bees….. A lovely monarch came and literally danced before the oak tree to this piece of music, Saxophone Concerto in E flat major. I wanted to acknowledge my friend and blogger at I Write the Music, for this piece, he always introduces me to new things. He also reblogs my post sometimes, on his blog, Higher Density Blog.
