 Stairway to Heaven

 Hey friends…. not quite there yet……still have two short essays to write, I should have been able to knock them out today, but awoke with a sore throat, and a sore body from 12 hours working on my feet this last weekend. Send me some healing energy if you get a moment or do that sort of thing. I hope all mothers had a nice day yesterday. Can’t wait to catch up with everyone’s blog this summer.

Oh! Oh! I almost forgot to tell you about my lovely totem this morning. If you read me you know I am highly entertained and inspired by the birds, bees, butterflies, and dragonflies in my garden. Living in Phoenix my birds are not very colorful, aside from the pop of red or yellow on the hummingbirds…..but this morning a bright yellow small bird was visiting. I have never seen this bird in my garden. It is exciting.

~Much love~

Breath vs. Breathe

Breathe Me

Rereading my last post I discovered that (and I am embarrassed to admit it) I did not know the difference between breath, and breathe.

Which means I have made that error numerous times. So….just to save anyone else with a spelling malady…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Breath is a noun. Breathe is a verb. When you breathe, you inhale and exhale breath. The simplicity of this distinction doesn’t prevent the occasional mix-up—for example:
So imagine my surprise when the view from the east side of the Eaglecrest area on a recent snowshoe walk took my breathe away.
Again, the Horseshoe Kingdom appeared to breath a little easier.
These writers use the words correctly:
Under normal circumstances I wouldn’t waste any more breath on the subject.
Supporters said the proposed neighborhood would breathe new life into the aging island.
Pause in this position for three to six breaths.
Auckland holiday makers can breathe a sigh of relief today as one of the key bottlenecks is unlocked.
 My Way
Hey friends. My Mythology essay is done. Yea! OMG I have books all over the place, I have had 10 browser tabs open at once. Still not done with finals, but that is done. A breath of relief. I sure have a list of books to buy that I could not get my hands on for this paper, I am certain I will visit these literary areas again once I go to ASU, and I do love feminine and psychological critiques.
Oh it’s almost Summer break…. Yea! Happy Mother’s Day to all of you lovely mothers, also to all of your mothers.
Sex, Love and Oxytocin
I just came across this article and really felt it was worth sharing.
Sex, Love and Oxytocin
By Indra
Contributing Writer for Wake Up World
Within our brain there is a code that tells us what we need to do to be happy, healthy, wealthy, glowing and living within our life’s purpose. When we do those things, and we experience things such as social interaction, pair bonding and orgasm, our endocrine system responds by releasing oxytocin.
Oxytocin – the bliss hormone – is the master hormone that triggers different functions within the glands of the body. When we activate oxytocin, we activate all the different glands within the oxytocin feedback loop, and we start experiencing the benefits of this bliss frequency move through our body and our life. As a result, we gravitate more towards the things that make us feel more love, make us feel more beautiful, more healthy, more satisfied, more abundant.
Oxytocin has been found to be conducive to pair-bonding as it generates feelings of love and trust, and equanimity. It also lowers stress levels as it reduces cortisol levels. If we have oxytocin flowing through our body, and our life, we live in less fear, experience more synchronicity (“luck”), have less guards, and feel more comfortable, relaxed, and able to speak our truth. When oxytocin levels are high, we don’t feel stressed or depressed. Because we feel happy and loved, we don’t reach out for “comfort” foods and other unhealthy things that give us instant gratification. We even begin to look better.
Within the body system is a full octave of glands and organs that resonate on a certain frequency. To activate oxytocin, the crown frequency, it is important to activate all the glands within the body so that they are all functioning in perfect harmony. By developing an intimacy with our body’s glands and their functions, we can give ourselves access to their sensations and trigger the energetic feedback loop that creates more love, and supports our physical health.
Initially, when we turn the focus of the lens into the physical body, we develop a simple awareness of their sensations. As we go deeper into that experience, our relationship with their sensations becomes more sophisticated, and in turn, the mind becomes more intelligent at interpreting those sensations. Over time, by learning to bring the flow of oxytocin into our body and our experience, we master living in that feel-good, holistic frequency of harmony and well being.
The most important thing to understand about oxytocin is that by itself, it is a hormone that fires the functions of many other glands. It is a part of circuitry. If the circuit is failing in some area of the body, the healthy holistic life that is coded in our bodies cannot be properly manifested. In these casesdetoxing, inner work, DNA re-coding, and re-training the body circuit is needed to re-introduce the body to its natural frequencies. In essence, we are learning to communicate with our body’s energy centers in a very intimate way, and to do that we need to relearn the way of the “natural” flow of our body and our hormones.
Oxytocin and the Sexual Union
Oxytocin by itself is considered to make us indiscriminate in its bonding influence. Under its influence, we may feel a bond towards “any” person that we are sexually or even physically intimate with. So, like all-powerful things, before we learn to use it we need to recognize the need for caution. Without mastering these sensations we run the risk of using them in ways that can ultimately be harmful to us. In my experience, this is especially true if there was sexual trauma in childhood where natural boundaries and paradigms were violated or not developed. We are also programmed (to some extent) by unassuming influences like “Hollywood romances”, which paint a very idealized notion of what “love” is, so a reality check is always advisable.
At its deepest level, sexual union is a spiralling together of energy, much like strands of DNA spiral together. But the first step to it is to first be in sexual union with you. Mastery starts with yourself.
When the “soul’s code” triggers the master hormone, it triggers all the rest of the glands – provided they are healthy enough to receive the messages and are in turn able to release their contribution to the hormonal feedback loop. We have to be able to find and integrate this harmony within ourselves, with the full LumenOctave activated, before we can truly experience pure sexual union with anyone else.
When we live in the full bliss vibration of our body, with all our glands working in harmony with each other, we become fully ‘married’ with our self. We learn to live in alignment with our natural code, leaving behind any pre-conceived paradigms of romantic “love”. (Esoteric texts refer to this as being “complete within yourself”.) As we develop an intimacy with our body’s bliss frequency, new sensations open up to us, new vibrations activate, and we get to know our Self in a new and intimate way. Over time, we can evolve further and play with the infinite octaves above and below our body’s core energy centers.
When we feel ready and willing, and we share the bliss of sexual union, we experience a fusion with another body that has their own unique vibration. Together, the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts. The union we experience when activated beings come together in this way opens up endless opportunities for energetic expansion and evolution. For that reason, it helps to understand how the body’s energy centers interact when we experience that full-spectrum connection with another person.
The Girls
Circe
Whale Songs
So the “Odyssey” of essay writing is still on the dark sea. I have started research but not writing, and this is one of like three essays. lol Oh and to save myself from writing two separate essays my professor is allowing me to combine them, therefore it will be a compare and contrast of the women of, The Odyssey, and from Metamorphoses.
Above of course is Circe from book X  of The Odyssey. A good one to consider. Or Juno and Athena….. I don’t know. I spent 7 hours on Thursday looking for Feminist critics on Ovid, I didn’t even get to Homer but I found this one perfect book, that I can’t get my hands on, A Web of Fantasies: Gaze, Image, and Gender in Ovid’s Metamorphoses, by, Patricia B. Salzman-Mitchell, none of the libraries have it ugh!  Not going to buy it, as it is $110.  ASU doesn’t even have it. Oh well next.
Juno’s jealous rages against her husbands lovers, verses the beneficent Athena. That sort of thing. I don’t know. I need inspiration, and….motivation. Good sources of academic critics often inspire but the other day I just kept running into walls.
On another note….Happy Earth Day! Lets all remember our Mother Earth today, pray, for her, give her gifts, visualize her happy and healthy and not being raped, like in Ovid. Did you know there are 50 rapes in 15 books? Crazy! But now what I really, really need is a thesis statement.
 White Teeth Teens
So…… It’s mass essay writing time folks, and I have gathered here, as my blog friends some of the brightest, and well read minds. That’s right, you guys. (Insert big cheesy grin) No, but really I would love some feedback. I am using my ENH 251, Mythology class as an Honors class and I selected to do my Honors essay on Ovid’s, Metamorphoses. There are just so many directions one could go on this. So. . .thoughts?
The Implications on Psychology, Influence on Popular Culture, Feminist, Historical??? Any ideas, any at all?
I haven’t even finished it but just throwing it out there. He is moving onto Dante next week, so… but I am going to put my focus here, although I need Inferno too. lol Then yes… there are more essays. It’s like Essay Season.
Narcissus
   Fool, why try to catch a fleeting image, in vain? What you search for is nowhere: turning away, what you love is lost! What you perceive is the shadow of reflected form: nothing of you is in it. It comes and stays with you, and leaves with you, if you can leave! …………………………………..
He spoke, and returned madly to the same reflection, and his tears stirred the water, and the image became obscured in the rippling pool. As he saw it vanishing, he cried out ‘ Where do you fly to?  Stay, cruel one, do not abandon one who loves you! I am allowed to gaze at what I cannot touch, and so provide food for my miserable passion!’ While he weeps, he tears at the top of his clothes: then strikes his naked chest with hands of marble. His chest flushes red when they strike it, as apples are often pale in part, part red, or as grapes in their different bunches are stained with purple when they are not yet ripe.
Flora
Waterhouse Flora and the Zephyrs
Flora and the Zephyr; takes its subject from Ovid’s Fasti, which is a verse chronicle of the Roman calendar, and which incorporates the mythologies and historical legends of Rome where they can he associated with specific times of the year. Fasti V, vv.195-375, spoken by Flora herself, tells the story of her abduction and marriage to Zephyr, god of the wind:’I who now am called Flora was formerly Chloris … a nymph of the happy fields where, as you have heard, dwelt fortunate men of old. Modesty shrinks from describing my figure; but it procured the hand of a god for my mother’s daughter. ‘Twas spring, and I was roaming; Zephyr caught sight of me; I retired; he pursued and I fled; but he was the stronger, and Boreas had given his brother full right of rape by daring to carry off the prize from the house of Erechtheus. However, he made amends for his violence by giving me the name of bride, and in my marriage-bed I have naught to complain of. I enjoy perpetual spring; most buxom is the year ever; ever the tree is clothed with leaves, the ground with pasture. In the fields that are my dower, I have a fruitful garden, fanned by the breeze and watered by a spring of running water. This garden my husband filled with noble flowers and said, “Goddess, be queen of flowers.” Oft did I wish to count the colors in the
beds, but could not; the number was past counting.’ (Translated from the Latin by James George Frazer, 1951) Flora goes on to describe the different flowers she gave to the world, born from the wounds of gods and mortals, and of her power to propagate and inseminate. She speaks also of her command over the harvest and the vintage, and her gift of honey to the world. Her story ends when she is asked the question: “‘Why, instead of Lybyan lionesses, are unwarlike roes and shy hares pent in thy nets?” She replied that her province was not woods, but gardens and field, where no fierce beast may come.’
Waterhouse’s painting shows the moment when Zephyr first set eyes upon and fell in love with Flora, as she gathered flowers in the fields with her maidens and children. He flies down to her, accompanied by his winged companions. and captures her by casting a garland of white flowers around her.
Awakening The Divine Feminine
ophelia-1889
Dear friends the Divine Feminine has awakened, she has risen, bloomed with the flowers of spring. I feel some explanation but not apology should be given regarding the change to the sensual tone in my blog. Spring has been abundant in my yard, the bees are pollinating, the birds are mating before my very eyes, the butterflies are in pairs, and nature is demonstrating its cyclic beauty.
The wonder and manifestation, I credit in part to my participation with the Chopra Health Meditation Challenge, the goddess sensual nature as part of the reemergence of the Divine Feminine Principle. I thought about not sharing this aspect of my romantic, poetic nature with you but to be authentic, I have decided to share, the unfolding of this new world.
The poetry of Rumi alone is deeply passionate, but combined with the classics nudes of Gustave Cobert…Oh Boy! So for now we will call this Mature Content.
