Transforming Your Inner Victim

I Have an Inner Victim? Me? No way!

By Joyce Jackson

Achieving our desires, including love, career success and happiness, involves dissolving our blocks.  We are naturally wired for love, success, happiness and security. However, we go about throwing all kinds of blocks and walls in our way based on fear. Wrapping ourselves in the cape of victimization is one of those blocks. Dissolving and transforming those inner victims of ours smooth’s the way to fulfillment.

No one likes to admit it, but we all have elements of an inner victim inside us. It can creep its way into our lives in sabotaging ways. When you can recognize some of the characteristics of your inner victim, you can change it and dissolve the blocks that hold you back.

Here are some clues your inner victim is at work:

  1. Generalizing statements: a.”Everyone in my profession is like this.” b. “If I’m going to have THIS, I’m just going to have to sacrifice THAT.”
  1. Comparisons: a. “Everyone else is doing well or accomplishing their goals.” b. “If my ex (mother, father, sibling, boss, politician, the economy, etc) hadn’t interfered then things would be fine.”
  1. All or Nothing Thinking: a.”This relationship is the best one I’ve ever had. If it doesn’t work out, then there’s no one else out there for me.” b. “If I don’t get a publisher, then there’s no way I can get my book out there.”
  1. Procrastination & Avoidance: a.”This just isn’t the right time to make a change.” b. “I’m just too busy to address this or get this done.”
  1. Brooding: a.”Nothing good can come of this.” b. “I’ve tried to change that but it doesn’t work.”
  1. Blame: a. Putting everything in the hands of someone else – even God. b. Refusing to accept responsibility for the role we play in our own drama.

Add up all those statements and this doesn’t sound like a person whom any of us would want to be around. However, we all hold some of those beliefs some of the time! You CAN do something about it and dismiss the victim.

Here are some trusted ways you can send them packing and transform the inner victim into the inner champion: first, take careful notice of how and when these feelings and beliefs are surfacing and be willing to challenge them every time they arise. If there is more than one area, just pick one. Ask yourself, “Am I willing to accept that an alternative possibility may also be true?”

Second, ask yourself what details you are willing to change. That is the biggest step in real, permanent transformation.

Third, focus on the bigger picture, on themes rather than the story. Sometimes we get so caught up in extraneous details they redefine the story altogether. Use the I Need Principle, as in, “I need a job.”  For example, a sour economy doesn’t mean that you can’t look for another job.  But that detail derails a lot of people. That’s when we lose sight of what’s most important: of who we are and what we really need.

The details don’t matter! When you redirect your focus on the main issue, it dissolves the inner victim and allows your power center, will and source of boundaries. That’s where you dissolve the victim and let your true self shine through.

7 Feng Shui Tips to Stop Feeling Drained All the Time

By Ken Lauher

Fatigue is a common problem in our society, as people try to juggle the demands and stresses of daily life: family, children, a career, romance, health, not to mention any hobbies or things we do for fun in those precious rare moments that we have free time. The uncertainty of the economy and keeping pace in a career to maintain job security puts a strain on health and relationships and, at the end of the day, it all makes many people very tired, if not completely exhausted.

The first step to feeling more awake is using Feng Shui in your bedroom for a better night’s sleep. But, often, even when people think they’re sleeping well, they wake up tired. According to commonly cited statistics, 20 percent of Americans have fatigue that interferes with their lives. More than 800,000 adults have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, while others simply feel tired all the time although a medical cause has not yet been discovered.

But, no matter how tired you feel and even if your fatigue or tiredness is caused by diagnosed medical ailments, there are ways to naturally boost your mood and your energy. I’m not saying Feng Shui can replace medical science if you’ve been diagnosed with CFS or Adrenal Fatigue, but there is good news. No matter what’s making you tired, there are small, easy changes you can make to your environment — your home, apartment or workplace — that will increase your energy. Here are a few Feng Shui tips to get started feeling better right away.

  1. Make sure mirrors don’t “cut” your image in to pieces or are not hung too high or too low. Do you, or other residents of your home or apartment, suffer from low self-esteem? People with low self-esteem expend more energy on things such as introducing themselves to new people, speaking in front of a crowd, or taking chances in ways that may benefit them in the long run.

Mirrors that are cut into pieces, and, as a result, break your own image apart, contribute to low self-esteem, as do mirrors that distort your image or cut off the top of your head or the bottom of your chin.  Follow Feng Shui principles for mirrors, making sure they are are hung properly to give your self-image, and your energy, a boost!

2.  Alleviate the negative effects of cramped hallways. When chi can’t move properly through a space, it stagnates. Stagnant life energy around you drains your own energy. Think about it: Do you feel better in wide, open spaces, or cramped, dark quarters?

If hallways are cramped, it may be difficult to fix this without major renovations. But you can paint the walls and ceiling a light, bright color (such as pastel green or blue or even white) and make sure the hallway is well-lit to give a feeling of openness to the space. Hanging mirrors will also visually widen a space and make it feel less cramped, permitting the chi to flow.

3. Fix things around your home that annoy you, waste your time and drain your energy. Squeaky door? Drawer that’s needed to be fixed since you moved in? Every time you see or use these things, they may remind you of an uncompleted task, which drains your energy. By completing these “nagging” chores, you’ll be able to move more smoothly through your home or apartment, and through life. And having enough energy is a key to being able to pursue your goals and create the life you really want and deserve.

  1. Make sure your home or apartment has enough light in the right places. – Everything from dead light bulbs that should be changed, to dark entrances or simply rooms without enough light can sap your energy. Natural lighting is best (as long as it’s not so bright that it gives you a headache), so open the blinds or curtains during the day to let the sun’s energy flow into your home or apartment if you can. If chronic fatigue or depression is a problem, and you’re cooped up indoors all day, consider getting full spectrum light bulbs to boost your mood and raise your energy levels.

Take a half hour one afternoon and check all the lights in your house for dead bulbs. Replace dead bulbs right away; don’t let that become yet another unfinished task that drains your energy.

  1. Dead or dying lawns, trees and foliage may indicate, or cause, negative chi. If you’re hunting for a new house or apartment, a dead, brown lawn or dying foliage could be an indication of negative chi in the space. But dead plants and lawns also cause negative chi. In either case, dead grass, plants and flowers sap your energy. With a little work, you can reverse the energy in a space. Play close attention to keeping lawns and flowers watered and prune back overgrown brushes to give the yard around your home a well-kept appearance.

If you still can’t get anything to grow, consider a professional Feng Shui space cleansing to rid the area of negative chi.

  1. Pay attention to the scents around you. What’s the first thing you smell when you enter your home or apartment? Bright, fresh scents such as mint and citrus rejuvenate and revitalize a space and the people in it. Consider keeping a bowl of nine oranges near your entryway or growing fresh mint on a windowsill.

Steer clear of artificial air fresheners that give off perfume-y, flowery or over-powering scents. Consider real incense or natural scented candles made from soy to give your home or apartment a pick-me-up aroma.

7. Make your everyday life easier with better organization, giving you more energy to focus on the pursuit of your goals. Is your kitchen organized so that items you cook with are near the stove, dishes near the table (or the dishwasher) and glasses close to the refrigerator? Do you look for items in the right spots, or are you constantly hunting for things you need? Every minute we spend thinking about things that should be routine — such as where to find our keys before we leave in the morning — is energy wasted, energy that could be used to do things that create a better, happier life. Putting the basics in your life on “autopilot” makes it easier to live in the moment and to pursue the life of your dreams.

The 7 Secrets of Color

by Margaret Ann Lembo

OM Times

The secrets of color are right in front of you in the full spectrum of the rainbow in everything you do daily! Every day you choose clothes to wear, food to eat, and all types of choices that involve color.

What would happen if you started to make all your choices with conscious intention using the 7 secrets of color? What would happen is that you will transform your life into one that is charmed, relaxed, flowing and full of grace and ease. It simply takes a little knowledge about the secrets of color along with focus and intention.

Everything is Energy

Everything that is created is created through intention. We create our lives with our thoughts, actions, words and deeds. Our thoughts vibrate out and return back to us in the form of our personal reality. For example, if you think about and visualize getting up for a drink of water, in short order you will be drinking a glass of water.

Apply this same example to large life issues. What you place your attention on creates your reality through repetitive thoughts and visualization. Thoughts and intentions can be amplified and actualized through focused intent and using some tools like aromatherapy, color and gemstones. Keep in mind that it is not the tool itself that is bringing about the changes; rather, it is the intention behind using the particular tool that effects change.

Intention

Intention is established easily by being mindful of what you want in your life. Many of us are clear on what we don’t like or don’t want and that’s where we allow our intention to lie. Unfortunately, focusing attention on what we don’t want gets us more of exactly that – what we do not want! Thoughts create reality. Make conscious choices and create the life you really want.

All thoughts, feelings and memories are stored within the chakra system as vibrations. The vibration reverberates and creates reality. It’s important to note that some of your feelings and memories are stored far below the surface of your awareness much like a program running in the background of a computer. The thoughts are repetitive and redundant. Once you are aware of what you are feeling and thinking, you can make a decision to delete it. You can consciously delete or transform the feelings and thoughts that no longer server you, just like you would delete an unnecessary program running in the background of your computer.

With a little bit of know-how, anyone can change intention into reality. Once purpose is established, maintaining focus allows us to achieve that purpose.

Color and Energy

Each color is associated with the color, vibration and scent of the energy centers of the human body on a mental, physical, spiritual and emotional level. The use of color, gemstones and essential oils employs your vision and sense of smell to maintain your focus on your intentions.

In the words of Paul J. Meyer, “Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe, and enthusiastically act upon must inevitably come to pass.” Use the tools to maintain your attention on your intention!

There are seven main chakras which are the colors of the rainbow. These energy centers are responsible for regulating the functions of many levels of our being. Each chakra has a color associated with it.

Red

The first chakra is the Root Chakra. Its basic color is red. This energy center is located at the base of the spine and is responsible for our basic needs. This is where we store vital life force and the energy to provide food, shelter and water. Money is strongly associated with this center. A gemstone for the root is garnet. Use an essential oil like vetiver or patchouli to maintain focus and grounding.

Orange

The second chakra is the Navel or Sacral Chakra. Its main color is orange and is the center for reproduction and creativity. We store emotional memories in this center. It is a center that allows us to create and take action. A gemstone for the navel is carnelian. Essential oils like orange and cinnamon heat up the vibe for taking action and making things happen.

Yellow

The third chakra is the Solar Plexus Chakra and therefore, located at the solar plexus. The main color associate with the chakra is yellow, the place of joy, personal power, self-confidence, mental clarity, and the ability to shine our light. Experiences of verbal abuse that reduced our self-esteem as well as kudos and praise that raised our self-confidence are stored at this chakra. A gemstone for the solar plexus is citrine and raises self-esteem. Lemon and bergamot bring the scent of confidence and courage to the day.

Green and Pink

The fourth chakra is the Heart Center. This is the chakras is green and/or pink, located at the center of our chest, the bridge between the lower three chakras of the physical mundane world and the upper chakras of the spiritual world. This is where our true self resides – the Love That We Are – how we integrate that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience. Gemstones for the heart are green aventurine or rose quartz. Rose Water spray with a hint of hyacinth enlivens the feelings of compassion and kindness – for oneself and others.

Turquoise and Pastel Blue

The fifth chakra is the Throat Center. This chakra is blue of the sky or turquoise. This center is located at the throat and provides the ability to communicate and express ourselves. It includes writing, speaking, singing, cooking, and the many ways we express who and what we are. A stone for the throat center is aquamarine. Clear out the cobwebs of communication with eucalyptus, tea tree, and thyme.

Indigo

The sixth chakra is the Third Eye Center. This chakra is indigo blue. It is located in the center of our forehead. This is the location of our ability to see the unseen, know the unknown and hear what is not being said. It is the place of intuition, knowing and dreaming. A stone for the third eye is lapis lazuli. Frankincense, black pepper and grapefruit garner the attention of the higher mind to connect with wisdom and grace.

White with Golden Light Particles

The seventh chakra is the Crown Chakra. The color associated with the crown ranges from golden white light to a violet flame, the place of higher intuition, channeling, and the connection with Divine Consciousness. It is the place where our connection to miracles resides. Some gemstones for the crown chakra are selenite, amethyst, and clear quartz. Fennel, petit grain and rosewood activate joyous associations with the higher realms and other dimensions of consciousness and reality.

Make the conscious connection with the color, gemstones and essential oil scents in your life and pair it with a positive thought with the intention of creating a happy, prosperous, peaceful and joy-filled life.

Raise Your Vibrations

By Robin Marvel

OM Times

Your Personal vibration is a lot like your fingerprint; it is unique to you as an individual.  Each moment, we have the opportunity to raise our vibrations, resulting in a healthy mind, body & spirit.  Living a conscious, positive lifestyle will encourage a strong inner core as well as raise your vibrations.  Enhance your life by choosing to experience elevated vibrations.  This will benefit you and all those you come in contact with.

5 Surefire Ways to Raise Your Vibrations

Live in Gratitude

Find something as simple as a plant in your home.  Take some time to appreciate the beauty the plant has added to the room and your life.  This works to shift your attitude because it is impossible to be in a state of gratitude and unhappy at the same time.

Visit/Call a friend who has a positive personal vibration

Just being in contact with a person with a positive personal vibration will boost your levels immediately.  High vibrations always dominate low vibrations.  Socialize with those with high personal vibrations and elevate your spirit!

Hold Your Power

Holding your power means being true to you.  The demands a person deals with can be overwhelming.  The things we need to get done and taking care of everyone else.  You have to remind yourself that it is ok to say no.  This means saying no to your spouse, your children, your parents, your boss and the list goes on and on.  Nurturing yourself is so important because if you are not true within yourself, you cannot be true to all those in your life. Taking the time to honor who you are does not mean you have to go out and spend money; it only means devoting some time to who you are!

Practicing Acts of Kindness

Doing nice things for others is a surefire way to elevate your spirit.  Every person you encounter is busy on their own path.  Offering a kind smile or a compliment can change the moment as well as someone’s entire life, not to mention the change it creates in your life as well.  A great affirmation to practice while exploring acts of kindness is “because nice matters” Do not underestimate the distance kindness travels.

Living a Healthy Lifestyle

Your body is your temple.  You have the opportunity to decide the health and wellbeing of your body.  By nurturing your body with positive energy, good foods, and exercise you are creating a strong, resilient, healthy lifestyle.  Living a healthy lifestyle includes taking care of your integrated whole:  mind, body & spirit.  All low vibrations and illnesses start on the inside and reflect throughout your life.  Some great ways to live a healthy lifestyle are eating good foods, practicing positive affirmations and exercising your body.

5 Phrase to Eliminate from Your Vocabulary Today

Are Your Words and Phrases Stopping You From Having Everything You Want?

by Gary Douglas

“Think before you speak” is more of a truth than we realize. Most of us are unaware of how language creates our life.

Asking for a new job or a relationship and having it show up requires more than just positive thinking, according to Access Consciousness® founder Gary Douglas, who works with people worldwide on how to use language to create what they truly desire.

The words and phrases you use have a vibration. The first language on earth is energy.

If your life is not how you would like it to be, you can change your life by changing the words and phrases you use every day.

Most of us are unaware that we are entrained to use words and phrases that limit us.

The universe is literal. We are still using words and phrases that have a surprising power to stop our creations.

This is one reason the Law of Attraction tools and positive thinking often don’t work,” asserts Douglas.

  1. Stop saying ‘I want…’ There are 26 (pre-1946) dictionary definitions of ‘want’, which mean ‘to lack’. Ask: What would it take for me to have a new job or a new relationship that is fun for me?” instead.
  2. When you say ‘I am sick and tired of….’ you are creating yourself as sick and tired. If you find yourself saying this, ask: ‘What am I sick and tired of?’ and then change it!
  3. The Secret misused the word ‘manifesting’. Nothing show ups because we are asking for ‘how something shows up’! “I am manifesting…” actually means “I am how it shows up…” Instead ask for what you would like to ‘actualize’ (meaning to bring into physical existence). ‘What would it take for me to actualize more money than I can spend?’
  4. ‘Why’ is a question that takes you around in circles (you know this – every two year-old has taken you there.) Instead ask: ‘What would it take for this to be different?’ or ‘What else is possible?’ and watch your choices change.
  5. ‘Try’ is an illusion that you are choosing something when that is not what you are actually choosing – try and stand up… Instead you have to ask a question that will allow you to make a choice. “How can I change this? or “What would it take for me to receive this?” will open a door to a different choice and a different possibility.

“Any dictionary from pre-1946 will allow you to choose your words with awareness of what they truly mean,” advises Douglas. “And you will create more by asking questions that allow the universe to

“Any dictionary from pre-1946 will allow you to choose your words with awareness of what they truly mean,” advises Douglas. “And you will create more by asking questions that allow the universe to

deliver something that is even greater than what you have imagined. Asking ‘When will my new silver BMW show up?” is not a question.

It is a conclusion with a question mark attached. ‘What will it take to have a new car that is fast, beautiful and fun for me to drive?’ is a question that allows you to bring into existence what you would truly like to create.”
