Blue Butterflies & Me is 7 years old today. Being as blogging started as a fluke, it has remained a consistent part of my life. it is also my first blog buddy’s birthday, Ody Mama, sadly she is too busy to blog, but I have her on the phone. Happy Birthday girl!
First year of teaching done, time for some cake.

Is life not interesting? I mean, Wow. Things in the world have gone cuckoo! Not that I give these things focus because I just do not. However I give my awareness to my life, to my heart, and to my mind. Plus I pray, or send love to areas that need it. I have often written about intentional denial, that is what I still believe, as without, so within, or visa versa.
What I am learning is how much I can grow, and learn, and change. At my age I am still observing how much editing needs to be done on me. That is cool. I am finally learning how to catch ego at its business and deal with it faster. I will give you an example of what I mean; I did not receive a scholarship from the teaching college, I was hurt, and I was angry, and I took it like a three year old. However, I discussed it with wise women who helped me to understand and move past it, it took a good five days (I must reduce that time).
So this was the first week of school. I had my schedule set, I had my textbooks, ready set go. Then scary English professor, I mean scary, she assigned homework last Thursday for midnight the first day of school (who does that). The content was brutal and violent. I am not going to name it as this is public. I thought I could do it. As I read the novel I had to keep my hand on my solar plexus. I was becoming super stressed feeling all my attention would be diverted from my other five classes to meet the demands from this professor. Here’s the thing; I did not do my due diligence, I did not look up the professor or the class for reviews. Always, always, do that! I got so stressed I got a cold, and for what? For no reason whatsoever. I dropped that class and now I will be analyzing Fairy Tales. Yes, of course. I put myself through all of that. When will I ever learn? lol Well, I am working on it.

So today I have an unlikely totem visit my backyard, obviously someone’s pet parrot is loose.
Parrot as a totem
The parrot as a healer would be representative of both a color therapist and a speech therapist. Parrot is a magical totem that teaches us that the world is full of possibility. The role of the parrot is that of a linguist opening communication centers. When parrot totem appears look to see if you need assistance in understanding views that are different from your own. It may be time to widen your horizons or sign up for a class to learn a new language
With its brightly colored feathers, the parrot is considered a bird of the sun. The attributes of color and association with the life-giving sun are what gives it its magic. Parrot feathers can be used in prayer sticks for powerful healing rites and also to invoke the energies of the sun at any time of the year.
Some parrots are taught to mimic humans. Because of this ability, the parrot is considered a link or bridge between the bird kingdom and the human one. In this sense, parrots can be viewed as ambassadors, diplomats, or interpreters for the bird realm. They have a magic that can awaken a diplomacy within and enable you to understand others more effectively.
In the Pueblo tradition, parrots are associated with the gathering of salt. Salt was a precious commodity, and the places where salt was found, were considered a gift from the sun. Since the parrot was a bird of the sun to the Pueblo, there is that correlation. But the most noticeable attribute of parrots is its bright colors. Anyone with a parrot as totem should study colors and their effects. Thus the parrot can be a wonderful teacher of the power of light and color.

Keep Coming Through
How is everybody? Me? Challenged. lol I love the title by Visual Alchemy, “Keep Coming Through,” because that is what we must do, “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.” Dory, from Nemo, of course. The crazy thing is that I have been able to trust, and not fall into those standard resets to fear, and it is working out alright. The health is better but if you are prone to sending healing, please do so. It will be graciously accepted. I do believe that these challenges myself, and others are having are good. Some positive change is occurring. I love to use the digital i-ching at iFate,com They have always been accurate for me, so unless I really want to know, I don’t do it. This was my encouraging reading today after the difficult one a day or ago, when….my car wouldn’t start. Go figure, forward movement halted on all fronts, but things are moving again.

Inner Child work has popped up here and there lately, so I take it as a sign that this may be an opportune time for me to do some more of it. I would really love to have you all join in the sharing of your techniques and experiences. This challenge like the others, is to link this post, or blog in your post with the prompt, Inner Child. What, or how you express it, is fully up to you. I heard once, and it really resonated, “Everyone you meet is a 3 year old child.” Whether or not that is true, I don’t know, but when we compassionately look at someones inner 3 year old child, almost anything can be forgiven. Renewed and refreshed. It has been way too long since I have practiced Qigong on a daily basis. I have wanted to do so but…. haven’t. So today I meet Tashi my new Qigong teacher. Tashi is an an Internal Martial Artist and energy cultivator since ‘95. Tashi had study Auricular Medicine, Cranial Sacral, DNA Reprogramming, Light Body’s, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Meditation under a number of exceptional masters in their fields.
What a great class. Feeling the Chi once again coarsening through my body. Now to reestablish the discipline to continue everyday.
Qigong is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and focused intention. The word Qigong (Chi Kung) is made up of two Chinese words. Qi is pronounced chee and is usually translated to mean the life force or vital-energy that flows through all things in the universe.
